The Schulenburg Tennis team attended the
Yoakum Junior Varsity tournament on Thursday, February 7th with the following results:
Seth Eckhardt won the Boys Singles with match scores of: (picture attached)
8-2 Vs Seagroves of Columbus; 8-0 vs Culak of Shiner; and in the Championship 8-4 vs Manuel of Columbus
Rylee Heller and Kayla Schaeffer also participated in Girls Singles competition in Yoakum's Invitational tournament.
Some more members of Schulenburg Tennis Team attended the Bastrop Varsity Tennis Tournament on Friday, Feb. 8th:
Wade Dillenbeck won the Boys Singles Championship with receiving a bye in the first round and scores of: (picture attached)
8-1 vs J.Nelson of RoundRock; 8-0 vs Paul Goode of Bastrop; and in the semi-finals set scores of 6-2/6-4 vs vs V.Stewart of Jarrell;
in the Championship 6-2/6-2 vs D.Doan of Connally
Also participating in Bastrop were:
Kristin Moring and Aristides Espinosa in Mixed Doubles winning 3 matches and progressing to the semi-finals
8-4 vs Park & Duffy of Round Rock; 8-6 vs Starr & Williams of Lockhardt; beating Franky & Dennis of Hutto 8-6; 4-6/2-6 to Voung/Phan of Pflugerville in the Semi's
Boys Doubles Teams: Clayton Treybig and Michael Kubesch won their first match 8-2 and lost their second one
Ariosto Espinosa and Montana Olle lost their first match 5-8; won 9-8 Tiebreak 7-4 vs. Bastrop's Cameron/Williams
lost quarterfinal 4-8 vs Nguyen & Nguyen of Connally
Boys Singles Player: Micky Olle won first round of play 8-6 vs Anthony Pechal of LaGrange, but lost to the finalist Dung Doan of Connally 3-8
